WeWard Communities lets charities launch free, engaging solidarity walking challenges. This article explains how organizations can mobilize supporters and turn walking into real-world impact.

Launching a solidarity walking challenge with WeWard Communities is quick, easy and 100% free! Do you represent a charity? Thanks to WeWard Communities, you can mobilize your donors, volunteers and partners around a solidarity walking challenge to fund your projects! Download the WeWard application, go to the Social tab, then Communities, and click on the Create button. Then, you just have to follow these steps!

Create a clear and inspiring Community

1. Choose an impactful name

Give a name that speaks immediately to your audience and reflects your mission. Examples: “Walk for Sick Kids with [Name of association]”, “1 Million Wards to Plant 1,000 Trees”.

2. Write a clear, motivating description

Explain why you're launching this solidarity walk, and which projects you'd like to fund. You are free to define your project and your goals, but several options are recommended:

  • Create a WeWard Community to engage participants in a solidarity event: are you organizing a solidarity run or hike, or any other event? Whether at a physical location or remotely, invite participants to contribute and challenge themselves by joining your Community
  • Create a WeWard Community to reach a specific Wards collection target: you have a project in mind? Set a Wards collection target and motivate your members to reach 100%. You can update the title or description regularly with the % collected to indicate your progress. Members can also consult the total amount of Wards collected and its cash equivalent in real time on the Community home page
  • Create a WeWard Community with no end date or maximum to engage your network all year round: the longer your Community lasts, the more Wards you can collect and therefore convert into more funds for your association! To motivate your members, don't forget to set intermediate monthly or quarterly fundraising targets, and to explain the projects that have been realized thanks to their steps.

In all cases, mention concrete figures to illustrate the impact, whether in numbers of people, meals, animals, trees...

" Every 1,000 collective Wards finances 1 meal for earthquake victims. Goal: 1 million Wards = 1,000 meals!

Here's an example of a description for a community with a Wards collection target for a specific project:

[Engaging catchphrase + numbers to measure impact] 2 million Wards to protect orphaned primates in the Congo Basin 🌿

Help fund 4 months' worth of food for 30 rescued primates 🍌

[Concise description of your organization's mission] P-WAC's mission is to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned primates in Central Kongo, victims of human activities such as poaching and deforestation. These primates, including chimpanzees and other ape species, receive the care they need to recover from their traumas and are then reintroduced into the wild.

[Quantified project impact details] 🍼 This campaign aims to provide essential support to 30 orphaned primates by funding most of their food for four months. This includes essential nutrition such as fresh fruit, vegetables, protein and milk, which are vital for their rehabilitation.

P-WAC's holistic approach goes beyond animal care. They also preserve the forests of the Congo Basin, helping to protect an entire ecosystem. Saving these key species has a ripple effect, safeguarding the biodiversity of one of the world's most vital ecological regions.

[Call to action] Walk for our Community and contribute directly to providing essential food for 30 orphaned and recovering primates!

3. Add an impactful banner

Use an image (in landscape format, 1125 x 540 px recommended) representative of your cause: children helped, animals saved, trees planted, or even your team in the field!

4. Create teams (optional)

Create teams to reinforce commitment: by city or local branch. This adds a fun, competitive touch!

Invite your donors, volunteers and partners to participate

Share the link or code of your community via your email newsletter, social networks or WhatsApp groups. No limit on the number of participants!

You can also add your community link on your website and in your Instagram account description, alongside your other donation options.
